WHAT SIGN IS BEST FOR ME?
Many times, at shows, via emails, clients will comment:
- I’m a Sag, I’ve read I should marry a Gemini – is that correct?
- I’m a Cancer I’ve been told my best mate is a Capricorn – right?
- I’m an Aquarian, therefore I should never marry a Pisces – correct?
All of the above comments could be true, but they could just as easily be false…
Why? Because no two Sags are alike and no two Gemini’s are alike. Some Sags & Gemini’s would kill each other whereas some would make a fantastic couple. Let me explain…..
When we use just the Sun Sign connotation ie Sag, or Cancer, or Capricorn etc that is simply only 1/12th of our chart. Not a whole lot of the chart – right? If you used that same analogy on an outcome of a project – 1/12th wouldn’t tell you very much about how that project would end.
In the following example, I will use the astrological sign of Cancer to help explain. We could use any of the astrological signs and the same analogies would apply.
I’ve heard a lot of people say: “I’ve read about the traits of my astrological sign and I don’t fit them at all.” Hopefully this following analogy will help to explain that confusion as well.
Let’s look at four separate Cancers:
Bill born June 29th 1965
Susan born June 29th 1975 (same day….10 years later)
Joe born July 10th 1965 (so 11 days after Bill)
Betty born June 23rd 1969
What do these four people have in common? If they walked down the street, and someone asked them what astrological sign they were…they would all answer “Cancer”….. and yet they have extremely different personalities.
The one major commonality they would share would be the need to ‘mother’ somehow. That is a true Cancerian trait. You can be sure they would choose partners, that at the time may need ‘saving’ (at least until they got the lesson that the person they needed to ‘save’ was themselves).
Lets look at Bill first……born June 29th 1965
Sun sign = Cancer
Moon on that date - also in the sign of Cancer
This person, as we can see, is a double Cancerian (Sun & Moon).
This person would be filled with tons of emotion – and would cry at the drop of a hat. Cancer is considered a Water sign…..and water is all about emotion.
I suspect Bill would be rather controlling and dominating mainly because of wanting to ensure the safety of those around him – however it could indeed be very stifling.
Bill may be better off choosing to mate with another Water sign or an Earth sign. Some of the Water and/or Earth signs are better at handling the domineering attitude of this Cancerian.
If Bill were to choose a ‘fire’ sign – this Cancerian would perhaps drown out the fire with all of that emotion and would make the fire sign completely miserable. (Fire signs don’t do well with being controlled generally).
If Bill were to choose an Air sign – with all of that emotion, the Air would stifle the need for intellectual conversation and again – the Air sign would be miserable.
Next, lets look at Susan born on the same day….10 years later.
Susan…born June 29th 1975
Sun sign = Cancer
Moon on that date – sign of Virgo
With the moon in Virgo, she will handle emotions way differently than Bill would handle emotions.
As we see though, she is still the Cancer but with more practicality to her. Rather than Susan being ‘dominating and controlling’ she would work in a different manner. To get her children or spouse to do what she wants, she would perhaps use ‘guilt’….or what she would term “common sense”. In her mind it would be to help ‘benefit’ those around her if she overloaded them with the information regarding the magnificance of ‘exercise’, or ‘proper eating’ or whatever may be her thing….. They would not be ‘controlled’ into doing the right thing…but they would be ‘expected’ to do the right thing. We do see a bit more leniency than with Bill.
Again, like Bill, she would be best to choose a mate that would tolerate these actions - - someone who would be a ‘water’ or an ‘earth’ sign could deal with this and perhaps not have a problem with it.
Next, lets look at Joe born July 10th 1965
Sun sign = Cancer
Moon on that date - - sign of Sagittarius
Because Joe is a Cancer, he, like the rest of the Cancers, will be that loving and ‘motherly’ Dad – but with an expressed feeling of freeness.
His moon in Sagittarius gives this man a huge need for freedom simply for himself.
Joe would still be the kid of Dad to go to all the soccer games - - whereas Bill probably wouldn’t want his kids going to soccer games in case they got hurt.
Joe would be coaching the kids on how to get better at the game – how to see oneself fly! He would be a Dad that is there for life, but he’s all about giving you wings to fly on your own. Once you’ve left the nest…..there is no coming back.
Joe is better to be mated with a Fire or an Air sign.
For Joe to marry a water sign – would be detrimental to his inner need for freedom (unless he was able to marry a water sign with that same need for freedom)….. He’s not about being ‘tied’ down.
He’s also not looking for a complete Earth sign as that earth will put out his fire and keep him grounded. He doesn’t want anything holding him back, once he has finished his commitments. (ie. Kids have been raised and on their own)……
Next lets look at Betty born June 23rd 1969
Sun sign = Cancer
Moon on that date - - sign of Libra
She’s the Suzy Homemaker for the entire community. The friends of her kids will love her because with that Moon in Libra her ‘inner’ job will be to make everyone comfortable and happy. (Unfortunately, often to the exclusion of her wants and needs).
Betty would be one of those people who could actually be happy with any sign. She’s the ‘pleaser’ and tat simply would be what would make her happy - - to please others.
If she married Bill – they would share a home where it would be filled with family tradition and kids friends sleepovers. They would be the kind of grandparents who constantly baby-sit the grandkids.
If she married Joe – she’d go to the soccer games as well and then travel with Joe when the kids had all left the nest. Joe wouldn’t have to worry about the grand kids cause Betty would be the one taking care of all of that worry and ensuring all was okay (without bothering Joe about it)…
IF we were to move Betty’s birthdate to July 2nd (same year….just 9 days later than what we talked about above)….she would still be a Cancer, but her Birth Moon would have moved into the sign of Aquarius. If that were to happen, she should NEVER marry Bill – life would be horrible for that combination.
Going back to the opening comment - - not all Cancers are alike. It’s the same for each sign. The moon changes signs ever 3-4 days….creating a different connection to the Sun and totally changing how each individual deals with emotions of any kind.
All signs are different – each with their own unique value. The combinations are endless. What sign is best for you is determined by the combination of ALL of your chart….
