Years ago scientists tried to denounce Pluto’s existence and this caused quite a rift in the believers of Astrology. When my clients would email to ask whether I still believed in Pluto, I would give them specific dates as to when Pluto made some grand entrances into various astrological signs, hence asking them: “So…did anything significant happen in your life during that time period?” Most times, clients could really relate to the periods mentioned and because of that, we all agreed, that indeed Pluto should remain as a significant planet when talking about astrology.
Pluto is one of the slowest moving planets – it takes 238 years to make it all the way around the zodiac – all the way around the astrological chart. This means of course, that where Pluto was in your chart at the moment of your birth, you will never see it come back to do an actual perfect line-up again….unless you live to be 238!!!! <s>
Often times Pluto will spend anywhere from 12 to 31 years going through one sign. What does that mean? It means that if Pluto were to enter the sign of Scorpio today, it would stay there perhaps up to 31 years before moving into the next sign, which is the sign of Sagittarius. It is believed, by astrologers, that when Pluto changes signs, it creates a whole new generation.
Pluto has a huge effect on world events. For instance, mid 1980’s we saw Pluto emerge into the sign of Scorpio which is known as the ‘sexual’ sign within the zodiac. It was through the mid-later 80’s that we started to deal with epidemics of AIDS and the world became more enlightened about people who are of a Gay and/or Bi-sexual preference. It was also during this time that knowledge about orphanages under the direction of Catholic priests came to the forefront.
Pluto has often been referred to as the ‘planet of death’ as it creates huge endings. So, in the mid-late 80’s when it was in the sign of Scorpio, the people who were Scorpio’s saw a lot of endings and beginnings (death) during that time..
Then in mid 1990’s we saw Pluto enter the sign of Sagittarius which on a world stage is all about Airline travel and Spirituality. We’ve seen a lot of airline disasters happen during this time as well as a lot of merging of airlines. As a matter of fact, one of the times when Pluto went from retrograde to direct motion, it was then that we saw SwissAir disaster in Peggy’s cove area.
On a personal note, this meant people who are Sagittarius saw a lot of turmoil and changes happening within their lives during the mid-late 1990’s and Pluto is still pulling somewhat on the sign of Sagittarius – especially for people who were born late in the sign of Sagittarius. This represents people who were born mid December to ending part of December.
As I said earlier, because Pluto is soooooo slow moving, these changes within personal lives and or historical events doesn’t just happen over-night – it can take a series of years as it moves through the sign.
Where is the planet Pluto now? In the spring of 2008 Pluto left the sign of Sagittarius ( I hear the Sag’s sigh here!!!!) and has now moved into the sign of Capricorn. On the world stage, Capricorn is the sign of large businesses. Haven’t we seen a huge change in business since Spring 2008? AND…..it’s still continuing! We are not anywhere done with the sign of Pluto travelling through the sign of Capricorn! As a matter of fact, this is a long stint in Capricorn, because Pluto doesn’t come out of Capricorn until 2024!
Let me assure you…..that if you are a Capricorn – life won’t be in turmoil all that time! If you were born in the later part of the astrological sign of Capricorn, it probably won’t even begin for you until about 2020.
Is Pluto changing a bad thing? Absolutely not! It can re-arrange your life to make it look different and put you on a different track into life. Pluto is not just about death (leaving things behind ie relationships, jobs, homes, people etc.) but it is also about: renewal, revival, resurrection, regeneration, and transformation! Remember the saying “When one door closes another one opens” That saying is wonderful as a tag line for Pluto transits. Sometimes when we resist change, it becomes somewhat of a struggle.
Change is important for the world to evolve! Sometimes that can be hard for a Taurus and/or a Cancerain to fully understand and accept. Most Fire signs & Air signs do better at change than Earth and/or Water signs.
So what’s up with Pluto these days? Well, right now – Pluto JUST stopped retrograding on Friday - September 11th (interesting date to have a huge planet turn itself around). As I said a little earlier, Pluto is soooo far away, that it will take some time before it begins to work its magic. It is getting us to ‘think’ about what is important to change within our lives. What do you want to create an ‘ending/death’ with? And how are you dealing with it.
I thought I would very briefly check in with a few of the astrological signs that would be mostly affected by this change. But before we do that….I want to take a brief look at Pluto in the 2008 frame of mind.
January 2008….Pluto entered the sign of Capricorn. Probably were some difficult times for the people/children who are Capricorns that were born around late January/early February. Without a doubt they experienced some ending within their life that changed their life forever!
So Pluto went on about its business. Remember, from other writings….every astrological sign holds 30 Degrees. Pluto left Sagittarius and entered Capricorn at 0 degrees Capricorn….and actually only moved up as far as 1 degree Capricorn (not very fast moving – right?)
Then in early April 2008….Pluto went retrograde…so it started to appear to move backwards. It moved back 1 Deg Capricorn….then zero degree Capricorn…and it kept moving backwards right back to the sign of Sagittarius for the last kick at the cat.
By the time we got to June 2008…it was still going backwards but was now at 29 Deg Sag and continued on back until we got to 28 deg Sag on Sept 10th/08 and then from there it stopped retrograding and turned direct (moving forward) again. So for the Sag’s who had their birthday around Dec 20th…you got kicked by Pluto to get off your behind….and deal with life! Create the ending that you have/had been procrastinating about.
So now Pluto was moving on its merry way again. But what happens if you have backed up? You have to go forward over that EXACT same spot!!! Ohhh ohhhh……..
0 degree Capricorn was in sight again! (This is where we started to see the business fallings and the financial markets giving way as it was feeling the pull of Capricorn)…
By the time we entered December 2008….Pluto had re-entered the early signs of Capricorn! January 2009, Pluto had moved to 2 degrees Capricorn and it managed to make its way up to 3 degrees Capricorn. (slow as a turtle!!!!)
Then in early April 2009…Pluto started to retrograde back…..back over that same road it had just travelled. Which means for ALL of us, it forced us to ‘re-visit’ some of the things we had been deciding beforehand. Is there any wonder why it sometimes takes a long time before we get our behinds in order to do something!
Where are we now? Back to 0 degree Capricorn! Back to that same starting point in the life of the Capricorn! Back to that same starting point in the life of business…..and this Sept 11th we start to rebuild yet again!!!!! Luckily once it starts to roll this time, it will travel up to April 2010 before it retrogrades again and by then it will have reached 5 degrees Capricorn.
Have I confused you yet? I suspect you’ll have to read the article a few times to help to make sense. Don’t give up….it will help you to understand any of the Capricorn people who have seemed to have gone wonky in the last year or so.
What is it doing to the early (Dec 22nd-29th) people? Its creating changes, revisions to their life. The Universe is presenting them with a number of challenges and they are asking them to step up to the plate!! Sept 11th is “D” day….time is of an essence.
So – does it ONLY affect Capricorns right now? Of course not! When one sign within the zodiac is being affected, you can be sure there are others along for the ride.
Who else?
Cancerians - - born from 22nd June to the end of June. You guys are also being majorly affected! Why? Because in the Horoscope…..we see it looks like this
0 Deg Cancer -------------------------- 0 Deg Capricorn (where Pluto is)
So the Universe is pulling Cancerians in a lot of directions. The Universe is saying “Hey….we’re creating endings over here….do you feel the dance and what are you going to do about it? Cancerians being who they are…..are perhaps holding back, trying to resist the change” But without a doubt, they can certainly feel it! It feels like it is happening whether they want it to or not.
Who else is feeling the pull? Taurus that have their sun sign approx 17 Deg…so Taurus born around the 8th May area. AND…. Leo’s who have their sun sign approx 17 Deg so Leos born around 10th August area.
In Astrology language we call this pull with the Taurus & Leo people a Sesqui-square aspect. This aspect creates an annoyance within. It feels like someone has taken our life and is creating rough waters. Don’t drown in this Taurus & Leo…its time to finally work through this lesson. Get it now so you don’t have to deal with it again.
The above mentioned Taurus people are saying - - “you might be creating an ending….but make sure its leaving me in my comfort zone….don’t you go moving that!” Hence the back-pedalling that’s happening….
The above mentioned Leos are saying - - “don’t you go making me ‘look’ bad. I’m keeping a brave face on this one….I’m gonna put up my wall….and nobody is gonna know how it’s affecting me”…..
Some Taurus people are doing well at this time….and that would be the Taurus people who were born between 16th-28 April. These Taurus people are able to see exactly how everything is coming together. They may resist a little but they see the end goal and they are ready to play the game. They are probably saying - - “Let it go….lets move on! I’m tired of waiting”
Also the Virgo’s who were born between 18th Aug – 2nd Sept…they are okay as well. In their mind they have played their part to the best of their ability….now its time to also move on. So they also see the good to all of this!
The last signs that seem to be having an issue with this Pluto movement are some of the Virgo/Libra mix born between 18th Sept and 28th Sept and also late Pisces/Aries mix born between 17th March to the 27th March. They are resisting this change big time! Their head and their heart are on two totally different dimensions. With their heads, they know the logistics of what has to happen here…..but try telling their hearts the same message!
As you can see….its not just the Capricorns playing the ride here. We all are a part of this ride. If your sign has not been mentioned above, it doesn’t mean you are not being affected, it simply means you are not being as affected as those mentioned above. For now….your ride is clear and you are striding onward!
Even though your Sun sign has not been mentioned above, you may be affected by your Moon sign. The house within your chart that Pluto is travelling through is being majorly affected. So, I guarantee you, there is an ending happening in your life whether you recognize it or not.
This is a huge time to make the connection with exactly what is going on around you. Pluto will be playing around this same area for the next 3 years…..get the lesson now….you don’t want to have to get it again!
