ARE YOU IN LOVE WITH YOUR SQUARE
One of the things that complicate Astrology is that we are always drawing what we refer to as “Aspects”.
Some of those aspects are called Trines (triangles) - - which in astrology language is very positive.
We have one aspect called Conjunction (togetherness) - - which also can be very positive.
We have one called Opposition (opposing one another) - - which can create some difficulty
And of course we have one called Squares (at square angles to one another) - - which again can create some difficulty. But it seems, that it is the Squares to our sign that often we are the most attracted to.
What I am talking about of course are the Astrological Signs - - - Aries, Taurus, Cancer etc. How are they connected to the REST of the signs within your chart?
Today we have come to talk about Squares….and I will separate them into 3 different groups (3 different lots of squares each with a different purpose).
What group do you fit in? Find your astrological sign and then see what other signs are your square…… ie if you are an Aries, then the signs that are square to your sign are Cancer, Libra & Capricorn……. (all found under the name of “Cardinal” Signs)
GROUP ONE: - - CARDINAL SIGNS:
GROUP TWO - - FIXED SIGNS:
GROUP THREE: - MUTABLE SIGNS:
One of the biggest issues with being in love with our Square is that we are always trying to be the one who is ‘right’. We always have a tendency to blame our Square Sign partner as being the person who is ‘wrong’. And each of the Squares has a tendency all on its own for owning that right.
Cardinal Signs are the strongest of all of the squares. They are often the leaders in every situation. Yep…I can see the Aries saying: “Yep…that would be correct” and I see the Cancer’s out there going: “Ohhhh no – that’s not correct”. You just often don’t choose to ‘lead’ out in front…..you push from behind. You set up your own way of being dominant and getting the way you want things to be…hence being a leader!
And Libras? Well……yeah…you try to keep the harmony…but you certainly do not lack opinion on how things should be!
And Capricorns? Who often knows what you are thinking…until you totally have a plan put together…and then you simply implement it…..again, coming forth as the leader.
So the Cardinal Squares all want to be leaders - - they simply handle it differently among themselves but they are simply jockeying for position. The position to be RIGHT!
This brings us to the FIXED Squares - - Taurus, Leo, Scorpio & Aquarius. When you think of the word “fixed” - - what comes to mind? That’s right – very fixed in opinion. They sometimes can be very rigid in their way of thinking….so they too are looking to be ‘RIGHT”! They often will bring a feeling of a strength of character - - and that is what the rest of the fixed signs see in each of these signs; someone who is JUST as strong as they see themselves. They can give you 80,000 reasons why they are right…..just ask them……
Taurus…..come on…who really has ever changed the mind of a Taurus???
And Leo….if it really comes down to it….you’ll simply “roar’ to be heard (sign of the Lion)
And Scorpio…..always got that 5 EXTRA reasons to convince you they indeed are right! They’ll prove it if they have to…….
And Aquarians…..will logistically kill you with the total reasoning…… They have simply gone out into the stratosphere to find ‘out of this world’ reasoning. Who can challenge that way of thinking?
Then we come to the MUTABLE Squares - - Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius & Pisces. The word “mutable’ comes from mutability…..”changeableness” “flexibility’ and ‘uncertainty’. So their biggest concern is again about ‘being right’……but this time it’s about making THE MOST RIGHT decision. They can often waver on ‘sureness’….
Gemini – are as we know, the twins….so they have a difficult time making decisions, cause who knows what they will think of it tomorrow…..
Virgo - - is always terrified of making the ‘wrong’ decision. They are the definite sign who is looking at the SURENESS of that decision.
Sagittarius - - is somewhat like the Virgo in that they can think of so many reasons as to the ‘what happens if…” scenarios. They are always concerned about ‘tomorrow’ thereby making today a difficult day for that decision…so wait until tomorrow for the answer….
Pisces - - often such a care-giver they are putting everyone else’s needs first that the decision will often depend on everyone else.
They are very attracted to the variability in their square signs that they feel everyone is being extremely flexible. It’s very difficult to be rigid around someone who actually does need that kind of flexibility. But, it then means - - is there ever a FINAL decision that is made among our Variable Square friends!
Attraction between people, whether it’s in love, friendship, business or war – it’s always a very mysterious feeling. It’s a force that seems to work on such a deep level.
There are probably many good reasons as to why we are attracted to our Square…but it seems signs in square keeps us involved in the relationship. If it were a softer connection between the aspects of the signs, we probably would have drifted a long time ago. It’s hard to ignore the power of the square.
When you read anything of a metaphysical nature, we are taught that we are most attracted where we have the most to learn, to give – and to forgive. So bless the Universal pattern that has drawn you to your square loved one. There is almost certainly a good personal developmental reason for your present connection.
Always look to the bottom line goal. Do you want undisturbed comfort with no waves, no rocking boats? Or do you want growth and learning, the genuine kind that often involves clashes of opinion, changes of heart? If you’ve opted for the latter, then a square relationship is definitely your friend. It will demand that you work on your challenges, thus giving you both a special opportunity for growth.
Why ‘special”? Because squares help (okay, force) you to work on your own stuff. Anything you throw ‘out there’ comes boomeranging back to you, with a curve thrown in. The ‘square’ relationship will help you grow as a person. Gradually it becomes easier to see what your ‘stuff’ is and what your partner’s is.
Allow yourself to see what is really going on in the under-currents of the relationships. Everyone is fighting to be ‘right’ in their own sense. With that understanding we can become two complete individuals with boundless energy – and love – to share.
