JUPITER RETROGRADE

HOW DOES IT AFFECT ME?

     We have just had a new moon as of early this morning, so it’s not really surprising that we wake this morning to quite a bit of wind.  As we look up into the sky Mars (planet of aggression) is making a connection to that new moon in Virgo.  The connection is called a “Sextile” – which is a pleasant connection.

     When someone asked me the other day as to what I felt about the upcoming storm – I commented that I wasn’t expecting a whole lot from it.  Why?  Because I looked to the connection of Mars (planet of aggression) and I looked to the planet of Uranus (planet of unexpected events) - - both of those planets can cause havoc when it comes to weather patterns.  At the time there didn’t appear to be much of a connection – hence we didn’t see as much damage as was expected from Irene.   If  I were to suggest watching weather patterns more closely,  I would highly suggest watching around 18th – 25th September.  Should there be a suggestion of a hurricane warning– I’d say pay attention!  Enough about weather patterns - - but I simply find Astro-meterology (looking at planetary alignments to determine weather patterns) such a fascinating science.  I have astrology friends who choose their vacations around finding the best planetary alignments.

     So – we survived yet another Mercury Retrograde!  Now is the time to think back over anything you signed or any deep discussions you may have had during that 3 week period. (3rd  Aug – 26th Aug).  I do understand that in the corporate world we simply can’t stop business because we have a Mercury Retrograde going on.  If you feel insecure about anything you did during that time, please go back and review the file.   When I worked in the corporate world, I always had a file folder for a Mercury Retrograde.  When I would sign a contract with a customer, I simply would write down the name of the person, and drop it in my folder - - that way, when Mercury turned direct, I was at least able to go back to those files quickly for a review.  And I generally found that an important signature was missing, or a date was missing, or a box had not been ‘checked’.

So – review is important during this time.

    Tomorrow, August 30th Jupiter starts to retrograde.  Jupiter is the planet of expansion so we may feel like we are slogging through some mud in trying to move forward.  I always find that the first week or so is the worse when a planet starts to retrograde and then the heaviness feeling seems to abate until we get close to the time when the planet once again turns direct.   Jupiter will actually turn direct again on Christmas Day - - Dec 25th…..  Might create a bit of havoc but at least it will be pleasant havoc.  lol

     I’m sure people are thinking - - Ohh no, not another planet to retrograde.   Retrograding planets are not always a bad thing!  It gives us time for reflection – it gives us time to really put things into perspective.  It does make us stop - - of course!  But it asks you to “DO IT RIGHT – THE FIRST TIME”.  Always remember - - everything in its own good time.  Patience is a virtue.

      If we looked up into the sky right now – we would see that Jupiter is presently sitting at 10 Degrees Taurus.  This is about finding a place of security.   Where are you presently feeling insecure in your life?  We are all being affected by this alignment as it is happening up in the sky.  What worries you right now?  What keeps you awake?  I find this is often times when people go for readings - - to at least be able to get a glimpse forward – giving them some sense of security.

     There is a ‘lucky’ part to this believe it or not.  The new moon in Virgo (Virgo is an Earth sign) is creating a trine (triangle) to this Jupiter in Taurus (Taurus is an Earth sign).  Triangles are good things….they create a POSITIVE aspect.  Some discussions which start now - -especially about sustaining the earth - - will have a very positive outcome when Jupiter turns around.  This is a great time to start projects which can be worked on over the next 3-4 months.

     So Jupiter starting to go retrograde tomorrow is asking all of us to “Stop - - stop spinning your wheels and determine what skills/knowledge/abilities you already have.”  Often times we think we need another course, or another piece of knowledge before we move forward.  Jupiter is saying - - Maybe you don’t.  Maybe you are simply stalling….and using what you see as a ‘lack of knowledge’ as a stall factor.  Sometimes we really need to sit quietly with ourselves and ask ourselves:   “What is the REAL issue here?”   Jupiter, as it retrogrades says - - Perhaps you are not moving forward because you don’t know HOW to get started - - versus you don’t have enough knowledge.   Jupiter may be asking you to “Look in a different direction”…   RE-ask how you can move forward with what you presently have.   RE-look at your options.  RE-view life from a different set of eyes.  Doors are open in front of you – do you see them?

    Your astrology chart and your numerology chart show you the knowledge you have already gained.  It shows you the skills you have already obtained.  It shows you where you need to be focused right now.  Where Jupiter retrogrades shows you exactly where you need to focus.  The aspects it makes in your personal chart will show how easy or how difficult this may be.

     Are we all going to be affected?  Yes….but there will be some people, more than others who will be affected……

     Majority of Earth signs: Taurus, (some) Virgos & Capricorns will find themselves more grounded.  It will ask them to come back to center-point.  This can be a very beneficial aspect for the earth signs.  It may slow the progress, but it will be beneficial for them specifically in December.

     People who are Scorpio (mainly those around the late part of October) has an opposition to this Jupiter in Taurus .  What that means is that if we looked up into the sky, we would have Jupiter on one side….and straight across from it, we’d find the sign of Scorpio.  Oppositions give us opposing views.  Depending on how stubborn the Scorpio, they may choose to tug and pull and tug and pull and in the end may not see their way clear until Jupiter turns in December.  So my advice to Scorpios is let it be…..if you try moving forward and there constantly seems to be a block in your way and you can’t seem to get through it….step back and RE-assess objectively.  Or, better yet, ask someone else to re-assess it for you.  The lesson here will be:  How much do I have to beat my head against a brick wall before I get it?

     People who are early Aquarius and people who are early Leo’s (late July) find that this Jupiter will create a square aspect.  Squares create ‘challenges”  It will be really important for those Aquarians (late Jan-mid Feb) and Leo’s  (late July – mid Aug) to be really really truthful with yourself.  You may entail some frustrations - - but be truthful as to “why”.  Ask questions such as:  What am I CHOOSING not to see?  What am I CHOOSING not to deal with - - OR - - am I spending too much time working on things that bring no fulfillment in the end?

    There are two signs which will definitely be affected by this Jupiter retrograding…..but its not the ENTIRE sign - - it’s only people born during a certain period of it….because it is a very narrow aspect.  It will take us from 16 Degrees Sag to 28 Degrees Sag – so those are people born Dec 8th – Dec 20th.    And also the sign of very early Libra (late Sept people) and very late Virgo’s (Sept14th – Sept 23rd) – the rest of the Sag & Virgo people will not be affected.   This aspect is called a Sesqui-square.  This can bring challenges because it can set up a lot of annoyances.  We call it a bit of an abrasive time.  You may find that you will have to make decisions – that normally you have chosen to avoid.  Time will be up at Christmas to do what needed to be done a few years ago.

     On a world stage Jupiter retrograding in Taurus is not a bad thing.  It will allow us time to RE-look at how we can collectively engage in the healing of the climate and curbing pollution.  It’s forcing all of us to RE-think about perhaps growing some of our own food next year - - patio planting etc.  It’s all about the sustaining of the earth.

     You will find that the purse strings of money from businesses etc may be pulled in tighter.  We will become interested in a lot of the ‘practical’ things in life and our understanding of how better to take care of the earth.

     It is time to truly value what is going on around you – to look closely at the lessons the Universe is asking you to see right now.  Jupiter takes 12ish years to make it around the zodiac. What are some of the same lessons you have before you today that you were generally working on in 1999? 

     We all become part of a cycle – what cycle are you in right now?  Where do you need to place your focus?

       We need this change – we need this shift.
