Welcome to 2012 everyone! I hope you all have some great plans for this upcoming year – I know that I certainly do.
The year opens with all planets going direct which means we all should be feeling that we are somehow moving forward, watching plans at least be formed – even if they may not feel like they have come into fruition as of yet.
As I talked about in the ending part of 2011, we had seen Jupiter (planet of expansion) stall until Christmas day 2011 before it actually got moving and is on its way again. Thank goodness!!! As we know with any stall (retrograde motion), it means the planet has to go back over some of the same signs it did before so we may be revisiting some conversations from late last Fall.
This year, the sun moves into the sign of Aquarius on Friday 20th at 10:10am (Atlantic time). So if you had a new baby born into your family previous to that timing, the child was a Capricorn. I often hear people say – "Ohhh I’m on a cusp so I don’t know if I’m a Capricorn or an Aquarius". With your chart, there is a definite. Trust me, there is quite a difference between people who are Capricorns and people who are Aquarians.
NEW MOON
The New Moon for January is on January 22nd – also the beginning of the Chinese New Year – we are in the Year of the Dragon for 2012. The New Moon is at 2 Degrees Aquarius which bodes very well for the early Aquarians (Jan 20th – Jan 25th). This opens new doors for you, perhaps even bringing forth a new vision to you. Aquarius sign is about the humanitarian side of life – let's hope it opens new doors on how to treat people fairly!. Wear amethyst for a few days around the New Moon as this stone connects you to the Divine.
MARS RETROGRADE
We get our first retrograding planet of 2012 beginning on January 23rd at 6:54pm. This planet is called Mars – the planet of aggression. It begins its backward trek starting at 22 Deg Virgo. We will all feel this sense of aggression….and because it's in the sign of Virgo, there will be a huge need for ‘attention to detail’. Our sense of aggression may be mainly because ‘somebody forgot to check something’. Don’t let yourself get carried away with this. Step back (before blowing up) and ask “Soooo, will anyone care about this in 20 years time?” If the answer is “no” (which I’m willing to bet it will be, then take a breath and realize that this too shall pass). Sometimes it's just not worth the aggravation.
Because Mars is about ‘aggression’ – I will also ask you during this time to “not let things build up inside until you are ready to burst”. When Mars retrogrades – it says we often choose to have the discussion at a different time – even though we are being annoyed and annoyed and annoyed over some idiosyncrasy which may turn out to be menial. Please deal with it ‘at the moment’ before it amounts to a monster. It can not take control if you do not let it. Mars retrogrades until April 19th.
The aggression feeling may be the greatest at these dates: Jan 26th , Feb 22nd, and Mar 20th, This will be a time that the Moon will oppose this lineup for all of us.
NEPTUNE ENTERS PISCES
Neptune is referred to as our ‘planet of dreams’….and its home is truly in the sign of Pisces. Neptune was discovered September 23, 1846 in the sign of Aquarius, but it best fits in the sign of Pisces (versus Aquarius) and so this is the first time it has made its full circle of the zodiac.
The last time that Neptune was in the sign of Pisces was between 1847 – 1861. One of the best ways to see how a planet relates to the sign is to look back to what was happening during the time that it revisited this last spot:
- Enormous influence of Christianity. And interestingly enough Pisces is represented as two fish swimming in opposite directions. Jesus referred to his disciples as “Fisher of men”. With this re-entry of Neptune in Pisces, will we see a new ‘form’ of Christianity take place. OR….will we understand that God is not to be feared (as opposed to what was originally taught). Christianity originally was shown as a need for sacrifice and victimization – have we learned anything from this full cycle?
- The sign of Neptune can definitely be referred to as the “God of Arts” so we can expect to see Art take a whole new avenue with Neptune back into the sign of Pisces. The previous time this happened, we saw fantastic painters emerge such as Renoir, Gauguin, Van Gogh, Cezanne & Monet. They made their impressionist painting which allowed the world to expand their view of fantasy and imagination. As you can see there was a huge evolution in Arts. Are we prepared to open that door again and allow Art to take on a new form?
- It was also during this time that Anaesthetics was used for the first time within hospitals. Pisces is all about the people who work in the health care industry. Will we see a revision here?
- How about our changes in clothing? Did you know that Levi Strauss made his 1st blue jeans in 1850? What commotion blue jeans started! So we may see a whole new ‘style’ of clothing evolve in the next few years – one that is common to all mankind. Speaking about 'clothing' Macy's was founded and opened its doors for the first time in 1850.
Timing is also very interesting as Neptune in Pisces makes its first aspect with the asteroid Juno on Dec 21, 2012! Whoa!!! That matches with the ending of the Mayan calendar – interesting times! And no, before someone asks, I don’t think the world will end. Neptune is about ‘dreams’ Juno is about “relatedness, receptivity to others, mutual sharing and trust”. Dare I to dream that intuition will become a common wording for all to use – even in the health care industry?
Neptune had actually touched base with Pisces in 2011…..just teasing the very edges of moving into the sign (only up to 3 Degrees before we saw a retrograde motion) in June, where we saw it move back into the sign of Aquarius for the last time until 164 years from now. We are re-living some of that time……allowing some of those earlier dreams to re-surface. Are you ready to let your dreams create your reality?
FULL MOON – Feb 7th 3:54pm
This full moon in Leo says its time to get a lot of those projects finished and lets move on with life!
SATURN RETROGRADE – Feb 7th 8:03am
Saturn starts its retrograde motion at 29 Deg Libra…..what’s happening in the relationship department? Saturn entered the sign of Libra in Fall 2009 – hopefully you have studied a lot about relationships since then. I’ll write more about this in the next newsletter…but its important to look at all of this happening in your chart.
REWARDING/CHALLENGING DAYS:
One thing I hope to do for 2012, is to give you dates that are either Rewarding or Challenging for you in each month. This is strictly centered around dealing with your Sun Sign. When the Moon lines up with your Sun sign – we say it’s a “rewarding” time. When the Moon is in a sign that is opposite to your Sun sign – we say it creates challenges.
FEBRUARY 2012
Aries Rewarding: 24, 25 Challenging 11, 12

With this planetary alignments happening, please ask yourself:
A ) How can this Mars Retrograde really help me push forward?
B) With Neptune entering in the sign of Pisces – where in the chart is this happening? And how can I harness this creative spirit? When would be the best time to work with this?
C) What do I have to learn about relationships when this Saturn goes Retrograde? How will it affect me? What is it that I am supposed to learn?
Happy January everyone! Welcome to your life – you have arrived!!!!
