ASTROLOGICALLY SPEAKING
WHO IS THE AUTHENTIC SELF
OF A TAURUS?
April 20 - May 20th
The sign of Taurus is the first ‘Earth’ sign in the whole zodiac and so one of the biggest lessons connecting to the sign of Taurus is about ensuring that one is ‘grounded’ in life itself. Taurus needs to have a firm foundation. They like things to be ‘for sure’. They don’t like to be surprised….life is about definites.
The Authentic Self of Taurus can often be summed up in one specific word – “Security”. When we say someone is a Taurus, we mean that is the sign that the Sun was in at the time of their birth. But even people who have a Moon sign in the sign of Taurus is certainly concerned about security. Things just need to feel sure. They very seldom are risk takers because once again they look for that ‘surety’ and simply the word ‘risk’ doesn’t offer that assurance.
In Medical Astrology, the sign of Taurus connects to throat and sinus. One of the signs which seem to suffer from sinus problems are indeed Taurus. The throat issues come in due to emotional words getting stuck in their throat. Once again, because of the need of security, and ensuring that people will ‘like them’ – they often don’t say what they would like to say in life. They will hold back on some of those words, and from an emotional sense, this will often create problems with the throat area of the body.
So what are some of the things that Taurus individuals aim to do? They want peace. They want security (as previously mentioned). They want a gentleness of touch – Taurus people are all about touch! They are the people in the Mall that needs to touch anything that is of material value. Silk is often one of their favorite materials! Taureans want naturalness and simplicity. If you roll all those virtues into one fuzzy, sweet-smelling ball, you’ve grasped the aim of the Taurus. That is the deep authentic self for a Taurus.
So in reality, Taurus is attracted to anything (or anyone!) that offers steadiness, reliability and peace. So for Taurus its all about feeling inwardly. And when Taurus has something (or someone) they truly treasure – you can look but you cannot touch. Taurus can become very possessive in that regard.
Soft music soothes Taurus. Planting a garden is a Taurean joy. Painting too. And building a bookcase out of fine oak or feeling the texture of a fine old violin makes their heart sign. Things that are connected to the earth makes so much sense to a Taurus. Taurus must ‘touch’ – that is basic
The glyph for a Taurus is the sign of the Bull. Sometimes that Bull can become so obsessed about security at every outward level: financial, interpersonal, experiential that as a result this sign can bore itself to death, become stubborn, materialistic and fearful of breaking up routines. This is a huge lesson in this lifetime to the Taurus - - to allow oneself to feel secure outside of the routine. Learn to step outside of the box. Often the Bull needs ot be reminded that motion and change are two of the most characteristic qualities of life- and that one of the most universal features of death is stability.
When in love, there is a huge sensual & romantic quality to the Bull. As with everything else in life, they pursue: stability, solidness, and reliability. When the Bull gets involved with a relationship – they are in it for a long haul. They take marriage and relationships very serious! Rarely will this sign be taken in by mere glamor or the flimflam of glittery fantasy. This sign has a huge aversion to ‘drama’ and all that it holds. This sign will constantly seek out ways of finding silence and solitude.
The key phrase for Taurus is “I have.” Whatever fills these needs has great value to Taureans, and they make an effort to possess it. Once they do, no earthly foce can persuade them to attach their interests elsewhere. Taurenas see to it that nothing interferes with what they want. They want money, not for its own sake, but so they can enjoy the things it enables them to purchase. There are actually a lot of Taureans in the banking industry as they are very attraced to money and finances.
Step outside of your comfort zone Taurus, the world awaits you!
