The Round Peg Square Hole Syndrome
Well here it is nearly the end of September. For many of us this marks the completion of the first month of school. It’s a time to get back into a routine, pack endless lunches, sign up for countless activities and let’s not forget everyone’s favorite…homework!
Often during a Numerology reading parents will ask me to take a short glimpse at their children. What I reveal is commonly followed by an enthusiastic nodding of the head in confirmation of the information I’m providing them with. “It’s like you’ve lived with them yourself!” they’ll say. Once again I must add that this isn’t rocket science people! It’s numbers and numbers don’t lie!
One of my greatest satisfactions comes from exploring family dynamics through Numerology charts. When God created man I believe he had the intention that we would come to live in families and communities. I do believe that he may have been taking a nap when he figured it would all just come together! Can’t you just see him reading the Sunday paper while flagging his hand up in the air saying “You guys just play nice and sort it out for yourselves!” Hmm. No blue print here! I never understood why when I left the Grace Hospital with both of my sons in arms, all they gave me was a Welcome Bag full of some baby junk and some breast pads! Where were the blue prints with this kid??!!
As hard as we try to create harmony within our homes the reality is that chaos is a close cousin ready to move in at a moments notice. It boggles my mind to think of how anyone can coexist considering the influences of planetary alignments and Numerological trends! Let’s face it living as a couple or as a family is hard work. It takes endless give and take with a healthy dose of humor to make it all work. A glass or two of wine never hurt either!
Do you ever wonder why your husband “used” to get along with your son but as of late just doesn’t? Do you ever question why you had a great relationship with your daughter but now it seems strained and unreachable? A lot of times these are simply trends that are opposing one another. They are influences that are affecting us differently in our own homes. For example, you may be travelling through a year of new beginnings with lots of hope for the future while your husband may be travelling through a year of seven where he’s more withdrawn and less enthusiastic about your plans. These same influences affect your children’s behavior as well.
Think back over the years your children have been in school. Some of those years were good years and some of them would never end! I could always tell when the teacher had a connection with our kids and when they didn’t. Not hard to tell which years went easier! I need to pause to say ...
"Boy! If only I knew THEN what I know NOW I would have raised my kids much differently!"
Getting my son Jeff through school was a journey all by itself. At times it felt like we were pushing Jeff’s bus all the way up the hill every single day! Every report card had the same comments. “Jeffrey is such a nice boy, however (nothing good ever follows “however!”) Jeffrey is disruptive in the classroom and has several assignments incomplete. He lacks focus and is likely suffering from Attention Deficit Disorder.” Then came high school. “When Jeff shows up for class…and this isn’t often…he is disruptive in the classroom. He lacks focus and is likely suffering from ADD.” Come on! Give me something more creative than that! The truth is while we as a family were struggling to see Jeff make it through school we were all suffering
from "The Round Peg Square Hole Syndrome!"
Several years later I began my serious study of Numerology. The numbers spoke volumes to me. I can so relate to how the numbers described the characteristics of those around me. Jeff was a study all by himself! I discovered that Jeff has a life path number of 5. Those with this life path number are never great students! They lack focus, direction and are the class clowns! Attention Deficit Disorder? Hardly! They can’t focus in class unless what they are being taught to them is of value to them in the real world. Jeff would say “a+b=c is not going to help me buy groceries in the real world Mom!” And you know what? He’s right! I’m proud to say that left to his own devices he graduated from high school…just…and went on to build a successful career in sales while buying his first house at age 23. Jeff needed to march to the beat of his own band without his parents and teachers trying to cram him into the post secondary school mold that we all thought he should fit into. (Round Peg Square Hole raises its ugly head again!) 5’s are free spirits and don’t learn by conventional means. I wish I had understood that earlier as I would have relaxed about his life’s direction understanding that he will be a self made man.
Understanding your child’s life path number can put years back on your life! Their chart will help you to guide them in positive directions that will be natural fits for them or in the case of Jeff leave them to sort it out for themselves very successfully. Either way is great! I do wish that we had the road map that a Numerological chart could have offered us. I can’t tell you how we worried when months would go by without him cracking a book.
Each child is unique and each child will display the tendencies of his chart. By understanding who they are Numerologically we can avoid trying to make them fit into molds they are never going to fit. Come on. You know you do it. Secretly you hope that they will be successful. You know your children. You see their strengths and their weaknesses. But are you pushing them into potentially disastrous opportunities just because you are trying to be that “involved and responsible parent?” How many activities have you signed them up for just hoping one of them will fit?
