LETTING GO OF THE "SHMUCKS" IN YOUR LIFE!

So here it is the summer of 2008. It's that season that so many of us look forward to. Mowing lawns, planting gardens; soaking up some sun and annihilating mosquitoes are just some of the highlights. OK. Maybe not the mosquitoes but you get my drift.

One of my most memorable events as a teenager (and I have many!) is the day I stumbled upon a "flea market" in Stouville Ontario. How exciting was that?! Combing through people's endless tables of junk and castaways became my newest passion! I have to admit I often wondered what possessed people to tirelessly drag their broken toys, stained clothes and other useless things to the market week after week. What makes a person wake up Sunday morning and pile all their kids and what used to be their most valued possessions into the back of that station wagon?

So years later I have continued to ponder this. I came from a small town in Ontario where the flea market was a weekly event that happened June till September. Having moved to the east coast I now understand that flea markets have ballooned into cult proportions and they are no longer a seasonal event! Sundays are now sacred for a different reason than church!

Have you ever woken up and had this incredible urge to trash anything in your path? (No-not your spouse or kids!) Your stuff! Have you ever gone through your house in a frenzie that would make the Man from Glad proud?

Strangely enough there could be a dominant influence of the number nine in your Numerology chart. Whenever we go through a 9 cycle that is reflected in our charts we also follow a sort of "purge" cycle. The nine is about letting go of things in your life even if it means letting go of your first Bay City Rollers album! The nine signifies the ending of many things.

A nine cycle causes you to really look at what you can do without in your life. It asks you to surrender your most worldly possessions to others in an almost philanthropic fashion. It asks you to pass on Aunty June's ugly china to some unsuspecting family member who in turn will go through their own 9 cycle of purge and eventually give it away. That's how heirlooms are born!

The nine deals a large emotional card as well. Under the influence of the nine you might just find it in yourself to forgive hat "shmuck" who stood you up at the prom! It may be time to stop putting those pins in that doll in his memory and get over it! (I know I did) This influence is cleansing your body, mind and spirit of anything that is not serving you well. Consider yourself forgiven Michael from Sandhill, Ontario!

Anytime a significant period of nine surfaces in your chart you can be assured that endings will be all around you. If you are a travel agent, you may find yourself flying clients to St. John's Nfld. when they really wanted to go to Saint John N.B. Who knew I could....I mean you could lose your job over that? Details. Believe me when I tell you that those earth shattering abrupt endings in your life is the universe's less than eloquent way of preparing you for a much better new beginning! Ask my ex-husband!

The nine also holds a huge environmental component. People find themselves far more concerned about the environment and the impact they themselves are having on it. My husband does not share my passion for Numerology but he has a health respect for it. I swear that as soon as he went into his personal year of nine he became a garbage hound extraordinaire! It's too funny to sit back and watch him nose dive into the kitchen garbage to scope out the banana peel that the kids threw in there. He is possessed with filling the green bin! You’d swear he was competing for the "Most Efficient Use of Green Bin" trophy! He's a proud man Tuesday mornings.

So take a close look at your own life. If you...

*Have a huge need to de-clutter your home

*Start giving away your most treasured possessions without batting an eye

*Experience abrupt endings in your life that seem unreasonable

*Lose long standing relationships that you couldn't imagine not having in your life even if they are
  "shmucks!"

*Or discover a passion for dumpster diving....

YOU  just may be in a 9 cycle in your life! Relax. As with everything there is a reason and a season and this too shall pass!
