WHO IS THE AUTHENTIC SELF
OF A LIBRA?

Scales of Justice is the icon for the astrological sign of Libra. Everything in the life of a Libra, is about balance, peace, and harrmony – and the importance of having that maintained. They try to create harmony at all costs and unfortunately most times, the ‘cost’ is to themselves. I have met a number of ‘older’ Libras who have become very bitter in life. This is because for some reason, they often feel life has always been about everyone else and not themselves. I so often hear the comment “I’ve had to shift my whole life to please other people.” Whereby I am very quick to point out - - that was YOUR choice – we can’t blame anyone else for those decisions. Also, we neglect to see that a Libra has the ABILITY to make that shift and change plans – whereby a lot of other signs does not have that ability because they are too fixed within a certain situation and a certain outcome. So, my reply to the various Libras often follows this route: “Yes, indeed you did make that shift, because you ‘could’”. (We’re never going to see a Scorpio make that transition as easily as a Libra.)
Libra is the only astrological sign that I suggest generally needs a mate. Libras don’t like to be ‘alone’ - - they are much more effective in the balance of a partnership. Interestingly enough Libra is also the ONLY sign that I would put together with the same astrological. i.e. Two libras could live harmonously under the one roof quite easily, because they both have the same need – the need of peace and harmony.
So underlying every Libra aim – is the aim for peace and serenity. It would be extremely beneficial for Libras to learn the art of meditaiton – the art of being able to come back to center which will allow them to release tension within their bodies. Libras pick up on the energies around them, sometimes creating difficulty. Then they try to ‘fix’ the situation (sometimes making it worse) by trying to center themselves and all of those around them.
Libras, when off balance, can be extremely dfficult to live with as it may appear that they are looking to ‘you’ to make them happy. This may simply be an appearance on the surface, Libras simply want everyone to be happy and everyone to play nice.
Also, because Libras are the ‘pleasers’ within the astrological community, they may appear to be easily manipulated in always being the one to back down. Just because they ‘can’ doesn’t necessarily equate to the fact that they ‘should’. Be extremely careful about giving Libra the opportunity to play as well. If they feel ‘you’ would need it more than themselves, they will put themselves on a back burner in order to please.
Beauty soothes us all but aesthetic beauty soothes a Libra immensely. Watching the beauty of nature such as the tenderness of a bird as it feeds its young, or the beauty of a sunset - - all will give pleasure to that Libra. Because of this, Libras pay a lot of attention to their outward appearance – again trying to maintain that balance and harmony and that picture as a whole.
