I DREAMED A DREAM
I’m sure we’ve pretty much all seen the video of Susan Boyle and her initial singing of the song “I Dreamed A Dream”......but have you actually looked at the words from Les Miserables?
I Dreamed A Dream
I dreamed a dream in time gone by
When hope was high and life worth living,
I dreamed that love would never die
I dreamed that God would be forgiving.
Then I was young and unafraid,
And dreams were made and used and wasted.
There was no ransom to be paid,
No song unsung, no wine untasted.
But the tigers come at night,
With their voices soft as thunder,
As they tear your hope apart
As they turn your dream to shame.
He slept a summer by my side.
He filled my days with endless wonder,
He took my childhood in his stride,
But he was gone when autumn came.
And still I dream he'll come to me
That we will live the years together!
But there are dreams that cannot be
And there are storms we cannot weather.
I had a dream my life would be
So different from this hell I'm living
So different now from what it seemed
Now life has killed the dream
I dreamed.
Has it REALLY killed the "dream" that Susan Boyle had? She wanted to 'sing in front of a live audience' - was her dream. Didn't she do that? Or....did this event simply change her dream into something else and appear in a different way than she originally had expected? Or...perhaps when she thought the dream had died....the time had simply not come up yet?
Sometimes we don’t stop to think about that…… The Universe will never give us something we cannot handle….perhaps she would not have been able to handle all of the publicity that goes along with being the best Idol. There are recent reports of her going into a Mental Clinic because of a breakdown. With all of this immediate attention, and publicity - it became somewhat overwhelming for her. Perhaps it is only ‘now’ though that she has gathered the right people around her to make this dream a reality….. A 'reality' that would suit her lifestyle and one she will be able to handle.
With that in mind - do we recognize sometimes 'how' the Universe makes our dreams come true? It may not be in the 'form' that we 'originally' thought it should come....but do we take the time to stop and go "Ohhh my heavens!!!! I really DID get what I asked for....it just didn't come the same way as I was expecting!! Silly me!!"
There are simply so many factors to take into consideration! Never give up on your dreams…they may simply be right around the next corner.
Lots to think about! Look around you to see what dreams you actually have already manifested.
