GUILTY PLEASURES-IT'S NOT JUST ABOUT CHOCOLATE ANYMORE!
You know Forrest Gump was right when he said that "Life is like a box of chocolates. When you reach in you never know what you're going to get!" Will it be sweet and smooth like your dream boat lover or sticky and messy like a bad divorce?! Either way it’s a whole new experience. The only guarantee you will ever get from me is that if you only eat one you will have one hip larger than the other so I always recommend eating two!
As many of you know, my guilty pleasure is chocolate. I have however discovered I have another indulgence! Now don't you judge me! Don't be in too much of a hurry to hit the big red buzzer while x’ing me off the stage! Yes it’s true. America’s Got Talent has become my new guilty pleasure and it too is just like a box of chocolates! You never know who will be swallowing swords or juggling Chihuahuas next!
My family can’t watch the show with me. Even my dog Marley leaves the room. So I cry a little. Well, I sometimes cry a lot! Can’t a girl cry when a guy rides his motor cycle over his Grandma just missing her head by inches?! Am I sad? No!! I am overjoyed!!
I am an Empowerment Specialist. This means that I help my clients to develop self worth while uncovering various hidden talents they have. So when I watch America’s Got Talent I am so moved to see just a tiny piece of the population playing out their passions on stage for the whole world to see! These people are different than most. They know who they are. They know what they want! They are focused on their passion and they let no one stand in their way!
It doesn’t matter how young or old the contestants are. Look into their eyes. Feel the vibration of their souls being fuelled by the passion they have for their talents. Some of them have no talent at all but their soul speaks volumes about their passion!
Sometimes in the face of tremendous adversity their dreams are snuffed out by the judges or lack of votes by Americans. But even that doesn’t extinguish the flames for these committed dreamers! They dust themselves off and keep on going. Why? Because they know their “authentic self” and they have an unwavering belief in themselves. They are following their path. They are fulfilling their soul’s contract. There is a peace that resides within a person who knows their souls purpose.
So yes! I cry when I am witness to this display of enthusiasm for their craft. I cry because I am thrilled when they are positively embraced by the crowd. I cry when they stand tall in the face of rejection with big red x’s above their heads. I cry tears of joy for the parents and friends who are so proud of them!
I challenge you to ask yourself if you know what your purpose is. Are you doing what makes you happy? Are you following your passion? Do you know what you are good at? Have you revisited your Astrology and Numerology charts lately? Your charts hold tremendous jewels of information supporting your life’s purpose. You wrote your soul’s contract. Your charts are translations of the contracts you wrote and they will assist you to find your way back to your passion. Try meditating on your life as a child. Try to remember what you wanted to be when you were just 9 years old or younger. The Soul’s contract is still fresh in the minds of young children. It has yet to be tarnished by the Nay Sayers who try to steal our dreams. You came into this world knowing what you were here to accomplish and what would satisfy your soul.
Yes it’s true. Chocolate is still one of my guilty pleasures but when Canada’s Got Talent arrives I’ll be the one in the audience with a box of chocolates on one knee and a box of tissue on the other! I’ve discovered its quite ok to have more than one guilty pleasure in this lifetime!
