IOLITE
"The Violet Stone"
As we can see in the upper left picture, Iolite can come in a variety of ranges of color. It can show as dark violet, blue or brownish but mainly we see it in the violet color.
This stone can be found in China, India, Madagascar, Sri Lanka and Brazil. It is quite a hard stone and because of that it gives great refraction. (That ability to see many colors within the stone).
I personally think it is one of the 'prettiest' stones, especially when it is set in jewellery where the light is able to get into the stone to create the different colors. (as we see in the picture mid-left).
This stone has been used to treat a lot of diseases dealing with problems within the digestive tract. Helps with the feelings of bloating.
It can also bring a lot of peace at times of stress.
Often a Shaman will wear an iolite ring as it ensures accuracy of the many visions.
