AMETRINE
"Connecting Heaven and Earth"
As we can see by the color of the stone we are combining Amethyst (purple) and Citrine (Yellow). This is partially why I have called the stone “connecting heaven and earth stone” because the Amethyst connects with the spiritual realm....while the Citrine (yellow) helps to keep us grounded and also connects with the ‘yellow’ chakra known as the Solar Plexus where we store our emotions.
Most people are not aware that generally the citrine we have within our stores are often Amethyst which has been heated to 800 degrees (turning the lighter purple stones to a yellow color – creating citrine). Obviously jewellers don’t do that with the much darker amethyst as it would be of a higher quality....but the lower grade amethyst they do use. Please note – indeed we can mine ‘citrine’....but once again this is amethyst which has been heated within the ground.
Ametrine enhances universal equilibrium....entering the upper planes of intuition without losing your balance here on earth. It helps give us a clear connection between physical reality and the ultimate state of perfection.
In astrology we often say that Libras have a difficult time, because they have a tendency to ‘sit on the fence’ trying to make decisions. Ametrine has often been called the stone for “Libras’ as it allows the Libra individuals to clearly see both sides of the fence making it easier for their decision process. Even if the decision process has nothing to do with intuition – the Ametrine stone will allow both viewpoint. Trying to make a decision about a relationship? This stone will help allow that process to happen.
This stone will stimulate the intellect (with the citrine)....as we know the color of ‘yellow’ is great as a ‘study stone’....it will stimulate the intellect - - and the Amethyst will reach beyond worldly aspects so it helps to develop greater consciousness. Also because of this, this stone will dispenses negativity from the aura....it cleanses the aura.
This is a great stone for dealing with prejudice which may have originated with your growing up. Lay this stone on your brow for 15 min a day to help clear up these old belief systems. Allow the stone to show you the connectedness for all of mankind. Life is never one-sided....there are always a minimum of 2 viewpoints (or perhaps even more).
When clients want to experience ‘astral travel’ – I always recommend this stone as it provides protection and awareness of the differences between physical realm and the astral world. This allows the feet to stay on the ground.....yet the intellect to experience the higher realm.
It is a beautiful stone to have within your collection!
