AMAZONITTE
"The psychic stone"
Amazonite often looks something like turquoise with that blue-green kind of color. Because of this beautiful color, it has been used as jewellery a lot throughout the ages. Its got a streaky parallel patterning within the stone which is actually caused by the amount of lead within the stone.
This stone is considered part of the "Feldspar" family of stones. For those of you who have taken some gemstone classes with me, you may remember me talking about the webbing within each stone, as that determines how the stone transmits. This is a monoclinic stone (giving it a certain vibration). Some other stones within this same vibration are Labradorite, Sunstone & Moonstone.
Feldspars are the most abundant and widespread minerals which are generally found near the outermost crust of the earth.
Because sometimes the stones can be more blue (than green) then it is good for the Throat chakra…and some others of the Amazonite stones appear to be more on the ‘green’ shade which works well for the Heart Chakra. It will help to balance out the mood swings that comes with indecision.
I’ve always called it the ‘psychic’ stone because it tends to give us messages and it helps to alleviate some of the emotional confusion that comes through with messages. If you are just learning how to use your intuition and listen to that inner psychic voice, I highly recommend picking up an amazonite.
It is a multi-use stone as I have seen it work tremendously on people who were dealing with osteoporosis. One of the best ways of working with it for structural issues such as osteoporosis would be to literally lay with Amazonite surrounding you. Take six stones…put one up near your head, one down by your feet, one on either side of your knees and one on either side of your arms. Visualize in your mind all of the stones connecting and building back bone health.
